New Bus Route Numbers

The transportation department has made some changes to the bus numbers that run routes for transportation. Bus routes have not changed, but the bus number your student rides may have, as well as the order that buses arrive in order at the Elementary and Jr/Sr High. If your child previously rode bus #8, that route will now be carried out by bus #15. If your child previously rode bus #9, that route will now be carried out by bus #10. The order of the buses and their arrival at the Elementary, as well as at the Jr/Sr High, will now be Bus #15 arriving first, or at the front, followed by #11, then # 16, and #10 trailing at the end. Families will be receiving communication from the district about these new bus changes soon, in advance before the school year starts.

Food Service & Meal Applications

All families, regardless of income, are encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application each school year. The new name for this is the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit application (CNEEB).

Napavine Elementary

Napavine Elementary will serve meals to students at no charge each school day.

Even though elementary meals are provided at no charge, it is still important for families to complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) application. Completing the application may qualify your family for additional programs and helps the district secure important funding.

Message from New Principal Mr. Hogue

As we begin a new school year, I am excited and honored to serve as the principal of Napavine Elementary. Having been part of this community for many years, I am grateful for the relationships and experiences that have prepared me for this new role. I look forward to working alongside our students, families, staff, and the entire Napavine community to build on the strong foundation already in place and make this a great year for every student.

Thank you,

Conner Hogue

Principal of Napavine Elementary

New Skyward Link

Over the Summer, the state provided some system maintenance to Skyward. As a result the district received a new web address for accessing Skyward Family/Student Access. If you had Skyward bookmarked in your web browser prior to July, that link is no longer in use. Please update your Skyward bookmark using this new updated web address. The new link can also be found on our website in the top right part of the screen.

Online Registration & Updating Student Information

Families who have new information to report—such as a change of address, phone number, or student health information—can make updates through Skyward Family Access using the Online Registration link.

If you need to make an update and the appropriate option is not available in Skyward, please contact your student's building secretary for assistance.

Free Tax Help Available to Families

Could Your Family Qualify for Tax Benefits?

The IRS Stakeholder Partnership, Education and Communication (SPEC) division works with local organizations through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to provide free tax preparation services to eligible families.

VITA sites offer free help preparing income tax returns, with a focus on helping low- to moderate-income individuals and families. The program also provides information about tax credits and benefits that families may be eligible to receive.

As part of its Back-to-School outreach, the IRS is encouraging families with young children and college students to learn more about the tax credits and benefits they may qualify for when filing their tax returns.

Free tax preparation may be available in your community through a VITA site. Families are encouraged to learn more about available services and determine whether they may qualify. Visit irs.gov/parents or irs.gov/vita or irs.gov/freefile for more information

This information is provided as a community resource. Eligibility for tax credits, benefits, and free VITA services varies by individual circumstances. For more information see the flyer below.
